I started doing them when I was 9 years old because I was born with an under developed bladder, they help a lot they keep everything down there very strong they help with bladder control and when in delivery they help with pushing the baby out. Post delivery many women can suffer incontinence and try help with that aswell. Another bonus and I know this is tmi but my husband actually thought I was a Virgin when we first made love because of it.
I personally think all mama's and women in general should do kegal exercises. What they help most with is post baby and keeping those muscles strong! good luck
