kinda got me worried

so I had my hospital tour earlier today, needless to say it went very well (:  I was the ONLY mom out of 20 to ask questions -_-  lol BUT we were able to pass the nicu, and I saw all these beautiful new borns :") but then a nurse showed me a baby and was likw "this baby was delivered naturally thats why hes so bruised" and the babys face was all purple D": I didnt know babys can get bruised so badly,  its sad, but honestly that baby looked dead to me by his color it made me cry a bit... does anyone know what causes babys to bruise so badly during vaginal delivery?  is it because they go through such a tight space ??

My son wasn't bruised. By my little brothers face was really bruised on his face it didn't seem to bother him and it went away within a week. He's 12 now and I like to tell him when he was born mike Tyson came in and punched him in the face when he came out.

My first baby was like that purple face. It goes away in a couple of days its no big deal. It just looks terrible.

Most babies don't get bruised like that with a vaginal delivery. That baby had what's called a "face presentation" which means that normally the top of baby's head is the first thing to come through the birth canal, in this case baby's neck was bent and baby came out "face first" they tend to be very bruised become mom usually has to push harder to get baby out when its in that position.
