I agree. Luckily baby's dad and my dad are the only ones who smoke. Yes the forehead is okay but I see these certain ppl who may end up coming to the hospital kiss other babies on the mouth. I'll come unglued on someone real fast if I see it happening to my son.

I agree with Taili2010, my fiance's family ALL smoke and I don't even like being over their house for long because they smoke around me -- and if they are comfortable smoking around me while pregnant, then who knows what they will do around my baby because the most effort they make is to shut their bedroom door when smoking in the house. I don't want to be selfish, but I just can't deal. My grandfather just died of lung cancer from chain smoking. I would die inside knowing that it could be affecting my baby.

So yep, no one's kissing him except mom and dad. My mother's side doesn't smoke, but they can't kiss him either. Everyone can come to my place or a smoke free environment if they want to see him. Sorry!

Elixy, herpes ? It's not like they are going to kiss the baby on the mouth seriously. I don't want nobody to kiss my baby either but I'm okay on the forehead I mean you can clean him after they kiss him without the person seen it, plus I don't think they will kiss the baby

There's a reason They make hand washing and hand sanitizing seem So important right after baby Is born. It's Because of germs. So of course It's completely normal to not want people kissing All over baby right after birth, kissing transfers germs! No one can get mad for you wanting to protect your baby and keep the baby healthy and if they do then oh well for them. Its your baby. You, dad, siblings, maybe grandparents of the baby since grandparents can hardly contain themselves usually. But other then that and thats IF you give the okay for them, no one else really needs to be kissing the baby right away. People can hold the baby if you allow it and should wash hands or use sanitizer first and if anyone that visits baby is a smoker i suggest taking extra precaution just because you cant be sure how sensitive baby will be to it. My bf smokes and so does my mom so after baby is born i will make sure they either wear a jacket while smoking and take it off and wash hands before handling the baby and if they wear a short sleeved shirt they can change their shirt and wash there hands up to their elbows before handling the baby. Call me crazy thats fine and if its to much of a hassle for them they can quit smoking or not touch the baby, but i dont want my baby smelling like cigarettes and also dont want her getting sick or allergies or having asthma problems. So me being paranoid mommy thats my rules! Youre allowed to make whatever rules you want for your baby and the health of your baby. Even if others think its crazy!

Glad I'm not the only one. My hubby says I'm over thinking everything which I probably am but that's just something I think momma and daddy should do.
