Ok thanks ladies, i live in the desert so my tummy has had quite a bit of sun exposure, definitely not going to any more bikinis for the beach :(
Apparently greater exposure to the sun can intensify any pregnancy-related skin discolorations. I haven't gotten it yet, but then I'm very fair-skinned and use a lot of sunscreen. Also my tummy has never seen the light of day lol.
It may get darker as you get farther along, it may not, mine didn't get too dark, some womens get very very dark, and it might take a few weeks for it to leave completely after birth.
& i am confused because i thought i was just getting a tan line smh @ me
I was just about to ask that, the line wasnt too visible to me but she said its there nonetheless. so does the darkness of theyou line vary?
It's real, haha, I've just barely got one, and I'm 23w2d, not all women get them though!
And like all pregnancy symptoms, it varies by prregnancy. Not every woman will get it, buti've heard that if you have a drak skin tone you are more susceptible. I don't know how true that is, though.
Very normal I can barely see one and I'm 33 weeks
It is called the linea nigra which is caused by hormonal changes causing skin discolorations just like the darkening of the areolas.
