I had a sweep to start my labour off and i had my baby the day after my sweep.
It was very painful but worth it.
I was 38 weeks when i had the sweep, only because my contractions had already started and it was the sweep or be in labour for days!
The sweep brought the contractions on much more quicker and much more stronger but Unfortunately it never worked like it should have and i also had to have my waters broke, which again was very painful but worth it.
I also had back labour so i had to have an epidural which was amazing :)
Good luck with the birth of your baby hunny :) xx

You should be full term for a membrane sweep.  40 weeks.  It's also known as stripping membranes.  It can cause a lot of pain, but doesn't for some women.  It is thought to bring on labor without breaking your water.  I personally will never do this.
