Our mixed baby girl is due is 34 days and we're naming her Olivia elise. :) name her what you like. U don't have to base it off her race. And u can always wait til she gets here and puck a name once she's in your arms. Good luck mommy. :)

^^^I agree.  Having a mixed baby is no different than having any other baby. They dont need special Names. It does mean you need to be more racially sensitive and conscious though.

Its no such thing as black or white names... ugh! I know white girls name Tisha, Janaye Leandra if u consider those "black ppl names" & black girls name Sara, Morgan Matty.... I'm mixed black & white. But I'm sure u didn't mean to offend anyone on here u just didnt know how to word the question the correct way so I wouldn't sound Racist. But any name of choice long as it sounds right with the Shelby & the last name. :-)

Sorry for your loss and its nice you want to honor your sister.  I agree you should find another name with meaning vs a "cute black girl name". Is there a name thats meaningful to the other side of her family?

I think you should stick to Shelby just to honor your sis that would be nice. Just look for names that youthink would fit her if it is a girl. My middle name is noele and I'm black and that's a French name lol but it's because I was born on Christmas. So think of names that have meanings you know.
