I would personally reccommend if you want to avoid intervention then try your best to avoid induction. I was induced with my first and ended up having a horrendous forceps delivery. My son had his head the wrong way and I believe that had he been left alone to come when he was ready we could have had a different outcome (maybe not, but I'll never know). My second child was born so easily after a short labour, all natural, I'm so glad I was more patient and didnt let the docs intervene. Have a wee read up on it, but dont panic, we all worry but the most important thing is healthy mums and babies (says I who is crapping it cos my baby is lying sideways and I'm terrified of a section too!!!!)
i told my doctor to induce me at 37weeks and he did because my BP was getting kinda high but after 12hours of no progress i had to have an emergency c-section because my sons heart rate went to 19BPM and my blood pressure rised. with my daughter it was a repeat c-section. now im trying for a VBA2C because the recoveries is really hard on my body.
Thanks! Everything has gone pretty smoothly. They think she might b on the small side n it scared the **** outta me but they say her heartbeat n fetal movement r good! I jus really dnt want a c-section.
With my first I took 8 weeks before fully recovering and I worked at a daycare so when I went back to work at 3 weeks recovery I was put on cleaning duty lol I wasn't allowed to do anything else but air and play with the kids. With my second I went back to work at 2 weeks recovery but my pregnancy with him wasn't nearly as bad
I went back to work four weeks after my first C-section :-)
At 11 days over due i was induced and made it to 7cm then stopped progressing so i went for a csection as a last resort... my daughter was face up, head arched back stuck and never dropped... also her head was in the 95 percentile and she was 9lbs 2oz... so vaginal was not an option... with my mom and aunt their firsts never dropped either so im leaning towards our bitht canals are not meant for delivery(back then there wasnt opitons for vbacs so im not sure how they would have delivered after)... im very much a younger version of my mom in every way so im just gonna do the csection this round as well.... but i have to say my csection went perfectly, absolutely no pain following and i honestly wouldnt have known i jsut had major surgery!
A frirnd of mine was induced monday morning, she was in labor for 38 hours, no pain meds at all. As long as you and the baby are ok they cant make you have a c-section.
I had to have an emergency C-Section at 36 weeks BUT I had an awful pregnancy with all kinds of problems. We had a C-Section scheduled for 38 weeks because of all my problems and at 36 weeks my Dr sent me to the hospital to be monitored and found out my kidneys were literally failing and the baby was in some distress it was a life or death issue for us both. Also he was HUGE and my hips never spread because of a weird bone/cartiledge disease I have. Anyway if you're pregnancy has gone well and everything is moving the way its supposed to and as long as baby isn't in distress at any.point during delivery you can tell your Dr you don't want a C-Section and he legally cannot force you to have one. My ex sister inlaw was in labor for 3 days straight after being induced and the baby's head was turned at a weird angle and they couldn't see it.in an ultrasound to figure out which way to turn it (they could reach inside and feel the top of the head but that was it) and they ended up having to do an emergency C-Section on her.
