My son slept on his tummy and on my chest. As long as you check on them you're fine. Don't just leave them.
I think there may be some confusion going on...If you are awake and the baby is sleeping on your chest, perfect. If you're asleep and baby is sleeping on you I have heard that is not safe, but maybe you want a second opinion on that from a doctor. If baby is in a crib or bassist alone or while you are asleep or away, the baby shouldn't be put on his belly. And I have heard that under no circumstances do you have blankets, pillows, etc... In with baby while they sleep. It drastically increases the risk of sids. It's always, 'Back to sleep' or put baby on their back when they sleep. You can look this up on the APA website for more information. I hope that helps.
Are you sayin skin to skin ?
Doctors Dnt really Recommend it bt I dnt see anything wrng wit it if ur gona keep a close eye on baby
But tummy is good, just probably not so much for a newborn.
I believe its best for the baby to be on one side or the other with a blanket rolled up for support on its back. If that baby throws up then he/she may not have that neck muscle to pull away from that right away especially if its a newborn.
But puting baby on belly for tummy time while being active is important for their muscels.(:
If the nurse says it's OK you can trust her justmake sure baby can breath it's actually treally good for bonding especially if it's skin to skin
I would never let my newborn sleep on tummy, their are chances of them rolling over and suffocating. What i did was roll a recieving blanket and kind of proppng baby on their side just a bit incase of spitting up and stuff.
Yep! Tummy time is crucial for baby's development. Sounds like you are being proactive in being present to monitor baby while he's very little. Him laying on your chest is great for bonding!
The nurse would be your best option unless u gone check with his pediatrician
