no food before labor?

My ob and nurses for Monday morning inducement told new no food after 12p m Sunday night! But I don't know if I can do that would it hurt to just eat a yoplait yogurt before I check in?

Hi, I think every woman has a bowel movement during labor.  :>)  Not to scare anyone but you almost always do with the pushing.  They tell you not to eat as said above in case you have a c section which is surgical.  Food in the stomach can cause quite the complications in that situation.  

PLUS< many women get really nauseated during labor.  I sure did.  I  had one popsicle that the hospital gave me and threw it up an then continued to dry heave after.  

Try to follow their advice----  you get a nice big meal after delivery!!  good luck hon

I think they say it more for if they have to give u a c section you don't have food in your stomach cause anastasia can make u sick

They tell you not to eat so you dont have a bowel movement during labor, so i would say its up to you if you want to poop while pushing hehe.
