pregnancy??

right so i posted a question on here the other day about pregnancy straight after abortion, i had an abortion 18 days ago, bled for a couple of days then stopped. i had unprotected sex before the pill had time to take effect. i missed the date my period should have been and 3 tests came up a weak positive. people said i could still have hormones in my body from the pregnancy and told me to seek medical advice. i rang the pregnancy advisory service at the hospital and they told me to do another test today as this would be a reasonable length of time for my hormone levels to be back to normal. however yesterday i started bleeding really heavily. today iv pretty much stopped bleeding again. iv done another test as advised and its come up positive again but the line is stronger, darker and came up straight away. im just wondering if this has happened to anyone else who has had an abortion as the last time i got pregnant i didnt bleed at all? i daren't ask anyone i know for advise as its not too long ago i had the abortion. id really appreciate any advice. thanks

The Hosp would have done it then cause it was a tablet some hosps do that.

I think you should see your GP OR the Early pregnancy Unit at your Hospital for a scan but they normally want a referal from your GP...

Can I ask did Marie Stopes do it by anychance??

Erm, your hormones will still be in your body... When is your due date for your period?

Because after that date then take a test, see if it comes back pos... if so see your GP! ask them to do a blood test. OR
Go to your EPAU unit in your local hosp they can do a scan :)

From my experience.... The hormone levels can last untill your next period that can take upto 6 wks to come. After my termination I bled for 2 days but I formed a GIANT blood clot in my stomach, You're not meant to have sex for 2 weeks anyways. and the pill doesnt work also for a week or 2 due to hormones....
If in a week you're still having Positive tests see your GP.
What type of abortion did you have?
Surgical or the tablet?

If you dont mind me askings :)

Did you go back for a follow up after the abortion? Was it a D&C or pills? If it was pills there is a chance that they did  not work. That happens in 3% of women

I have heard stories about women going in for abortions and the babies still surviving. My answer to that is God's perfect will and not ours. It is very possible that you may still be pregnant or you are pregnant again. My advice to you is to have the baby.

It could be that you are pregnant again.  I would call your doctor and let them know that you still are getting positive results and that the line is even darker than the previous ones.  Good luck.
