Really any time. They just meet you and you establish as a patient. they give you some baby info and let you know the procedure for setting up baby's first visit. (my office does not go to the hospital as babies are considered patients of the ob until they leave the hospital but you call when you have the baby and are seen a day or two after you get home from the hospital).
I'd do it earlier rather than later as it is more comfortable to sit in a waiting room and take hand sanitizer. Ped's offices are a cesspool of germs. Some have well patient areas and that is where you would want to sit! good luck
Thanks so much! :) the pediatrician I'm looking at comes to hospital every 24 hrs when I have baby and then when I leave I call to set up first appointment! So probably next week I will set up an appointment to meet them:)
