pillows for new borns??

Should new borns have a pillow? I always learnt pillows are bad for babies because it can stop them from breathing and puts their heads in an awkward position. But my sister in law just had a baby and said babies HAVE to have pillows. I'm pregnant with my first.

Thanks ladies! I wish my sister in law had listened to me. Instead she laughed at me as if I was stupid. It just shows that even if you aren't a ftm (its her 2nd baby) you still don't know everything there is to child care! :)

No they don't need pillows.    They;re recommended to sleep flat on their backs with their feet to the bottom of their cot / moses basket.    If colicky, you cal rolla blanket and put it underneath the top of the mattress so that it makes the mattress tilt slightly as that helps with the gigestion of food, but other than that, no pillows x
