planning your own baby shower...

I was going to plan my own baby shower, or at least most of it. And when I told some one that they said people don't lan their own showers. Is that true?

If the OP is  asking for an etiquette answer,  the answer is no,  you don't host your own baby shower.  

Everytime I tell young women this on this forum,  I get backlash but if you're seriously interested in what's polite,  you don't host a party for yourself.  

Anyone can do whatever they want,  but those who are interested in what's socially polite - you have someone else host parties to ask for gifts for you.

I'm planning mines and my boyfriend is Paying for everything also! I don't think there is a problem with that

I planned my own baby shower and I loved it. My boyfriend paid for everything just to make me happy. I'm glad we did it ourselves or else it would of been a disaster.

My boyfriend and I planned our own because it was co-ed. But if yours isn't you still can if you want it a certain way.

I planned my own with my daughter because no one wanted to step up and did a damn good job

I've been trying to figure out the same thing?! ..but hell I have the time and great ideas for cheap and d.i.y baby shower stuff.. I plan on getting everything together as far as decorations and theme ..However I will have family and friends completely set up and host everything :)
