Conception date?

Im confused on to what that is. Mine was october 9th. did i  have sex and right away got pregnant. or did the sperm finally reach the egg and it was days before i had sex. I marked every time we have sex. which was always unprotected but I'm just confused on what a "conception date" really is. We were having lots of sex before the 9th unprotected. But I'm just confused?

U def wont get pregnant right away because the sperm has to have time to swim and find the egg and then try to get inside

These ladies are so right. Wht they may have for gotten to advise u is tht sperm lives for up to 5 days long before it becomes no good. Since ovulation only gives the sperm a two day window u may usr either of those 5 days before u ovulated to try to determine the day of intercourse tht caused u to conceive on the date of conception.  Like mine for instance; i shad intercourse on the  16th of April more  than once unprotected between 2a.m. And 5 a.m.  my boyfriend fresh from the army ejaculated in me each time we finished a round.  I did not have intercourse with him again until the 20th of April. And my conception date is stated to be on the 19th. To me I found it interesting to learn that his sperm was just  sitting there for a couple days trying to attack my egg like a true Soldier.  Hope this helps. Good luck.

There's no saying you could have sex lets say the 5th and stop having sex but then you ovulate the 7th and get pregnant. The sperm is already present when the egg is release therefore it fertilizes the egg and the long journey begins. It's more common to have a girl if you try it this way since girl sperm live longer. However if you have sex on the day you ovulated the chances are higher for boys since boy sperms swim faster. Me and my husband tried the girl method and we're having our daughter February 1, 2014. As for an actual conception date its more of a window since ovulation last for I believe 48 hours which means the sperm had 2 days to fertilize the egg. Idk if any of that made sense.

You cant really pin point when baby was conceived or when they implanted, you can have a fair idea but it can take a few days between each stage, which is why they count from first date of last period (or if you dont know that then ultrasoud measurements) so technically you are 4 weeks pregnant when you miss yor next period but only carrying baby for 2 weeks by that stage
