I was taking suboxone when I found out I was pregnant, and my doctor just slowly lowered my dose down to 2mgs a day until I was about 5 months and I just tapered off. But being on suboxone, or methadone, is much better for the baby then heroin. My son was born totally fine and healthy, didn't need to detox or anything. Just listen to the doctor , and take yur detox meds as prescribed and be very honest about any feelings you have. You can do this girl I know its hard but do it for yourself, and for your little baby. You'll be so happy when its all over. Please don't use anymore dope my friend just lost custody of her baby for it. Be strong momma and if you ever need to tall to someone about this feel free to message me, I've been there and I can help even if its just someone to talk to that's not in your family! God bless love you got this!!!

Btw all her kids are very healthy because she quit as soon as she found out. The doctors said with her youngest she's high risk for drug abuse once she grows up but right now she's a healthy smart playful little kid :D

My sister in law was addicted to heroine when she had her kids she quit on her own every time she got pregnant but with the last baby she didn't find out until 4 months preg. I feel bad for my nieces and nephew because she's back on it. I understand it's very difficult to get clean an stay that way but children are worth it best of luck to you. Stay strong

At least you recognize it's wrong and are being honest about it, most babies don't get that chance, you're definitely taking the first step to being an awesome mother! Congratulations!!

If you can't get in to see your Dr, go to a clinic and ask them about subutex.

I would also ask someone at the methadone clinic if they know of any good doctors, they probably know of some good ones that really do care about their patients.  good luck and congrats!

I would look into different doctors if your current one keeps pushing it back farther and farther. Congrats on being pregnant :)

If that's the case find a different doctor that wants to see you. There's many drs out there that are willing to help you instead of pushing back your appt!

Sweetheart, you really need to have a good, honest talk with your ob-gyn.  He or she will have heard this story before, or one much like it (a lot of women are hooked on prescription painkillers and face the same problems).  Only a doctor can help you.  Good luck!
