Just take a deep breath and relax. You're tensing yourself up. 50% effaced just means your cervix is half way thinned out. Sometimes your cervix has to be 100% effaced before any more dilation can happen, but that's not all women, some are different. The trickling of water keep checking it because it could be your water but could also be mucus/discharge. Keep an eye on it. Just try to keep calm and relaxed

So yesterday I just got check by my obgyn doctor he said I'm 50% effaced so what does that means i can have my baby girl any day now? I'm so confused he said he can't tell me if I can have my baby girl any day now or who knows he also said probably by 38 weeks I can just dilate just like that and have the baby but I'm pretty sure I will have my baby, this Thursday which I would be 38 weeks and I had a history with my other both children at 38 weeks I went into labor..I'm just confused I been having a lot of mucus plug since I was 36 weeks now I feel like something dripping which I think its the amniotic fluid but I'm not so sure what it is? What should I do?should I just wait I'm not having no contractions or cramping

Labour isn't always imminent when you lose your plug.

It took me about a week from that to being 3 so it'll be soon just not instant
