pregnant...

i am 36 weeks this week and i was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what to keep an eye on? like for signs of labor or that something might be wrong. this is my first pregnancy and i'm completely nervous! also any advice on how to get any amount of sleep would be appreciated! i have barely slept 2 solid hours a night, is that normal and should be expected or are there any tricks to sleeping? my hips seem to fall asleep when i lay on them too long...
Thanks for any advice and encouragement you can give me!

Loss of a mucus plug doesn't always result into labor….I've known people who have lost their mucus plug and were still pregnant for another 4 weeks before getting induced.. BUT everyone is different.

Good Luck :)

Hi, You should keep an eye out for what is called a "show" this should be a mucusy blood plug. Sounds gross I know. This will happen and hopefully within a couple of days you will feel contractions. Your water may break early on or later. Stay and relax at home for as long as you can. Head to the hospital if you start to get worried! Sleeping? What is that? This is your body getting you prepared for the baby. It will help if you have a pillow and put it between you thighs. Good luck

Unfortunately sleep is hard to come by in the last few weeks of pregnancy because of discomfort. have you tried laying with a pillow in between your legs…and I'm sure that part of it is the fact that your body is preparing for what's to come after baby is born.

Signs of labor is really just contractions and back labor that are about 2-5 minutes apart consistently, sometimes Braxton Hicks are confused for actual labor pains that's why it's best to time them….another is if your water is breaking, most water breaks (if any) are partial…it doesn't happen like in the movies lol

Have you dilated any or effaced any?

You can ask your doctor about safe sleep aids. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was able to take sleep aids that were safe during pregnancy to help me sleep..they were called UNISOM.

Hopefully this helps a little bit
