Yay! I know you feel. It took me weeks to get relief. Once you start feeling better it is sooooooo nice. I hope you continue to feel well :)
thanks to all i went ot walmart friday night and the pharamacist recommended the nasal rinse. i did it friday night and it helped i called off work cuz i was still feeling crappy and got some well needed rest and used the rinse again. i am feeling so much better.
Yes do the sinus rinse...I had a sinus infection that lasted about 3 weeks and the rinse really helped get a lot of junk out. It's the weirdest feeling but it really helps and the packets that you get contain ingredients that will get rid of the bacteria that is causing the infection. You should also gargle with salt water...that'll get rid of the bacteria that is seeping down your throat too...so it doesn't spread to your chest or anything. It's the worst and really time does heal it but those things will take the pressure off. That's all I did along with the tylenol b/c I didn't want to risk taking any type of otc meds or anything and my doc didn't want to really give me anything b/c it was so progressed anyway. I also took a lot of extra vitamin C too actually.
A very comfortable and easy nose wash for pregnancy rhinitis is nasopure....no bending or twisting the neck. make the solution up once per week, and you can use daily in the shower. makes sense, even a 2 year old can use this easily.
thanks so much ladies. i am gonna try the steam and i think i am gonna go get one of those netipots. one of the girls at work recommened that to.
Walmart sells something called the "netipot" or "sinus rinse" it's basically a saline solution that you use to flush your sinuses. I have HORRIBLE sinus problems and sudafed and other sinus related products don't typically work for me. I've tried antihistamines, allergy meds etc and nothing works. My sinuses get REALLY bad when I'm pregnant. The sinus rinse was a life saver with my last pregnancy. Mine were so bad that it gagged me and I was constantly throwing up, add in morning sickness and it was just awful.. The sinus rinse did wonder to clear the stuff out. I would do it once in the morning and once before bed. It's completely safe to use while pregnant as it contains no medication, just simple saline solution.
Ha! We all recommended steam. I guess that means you have to try it!
If you have headaches from a dry sinus infection then try a humidifier. Sometimes the A/C dries mine out and I have to use one. I actually have a air purifier running too.
I hope you get some relief. I had that till my 7th week. It's much better now. Good luck!
Ah. I'm not sure. Mine started when I was 15 weeks and lasted for about a month and a half before I found something that worked (and before I even realized it was a sinus headache. I had never had one before pregnancy) one thing that helped a little was to boil water on a stove and breathe in the steam. It helps the congestion a little. Beyond that I can't think of anythig else.
Put your head over a bowl of boiled water covered by a towel and breathe in the steam :)
xx
i am high risk. i went into preterm labor with my first son and tons of problems with my second. so he wants me to wait til my next appoimtment after my scan. he says it just from my hormones being out of wack. that they should start leveling out and i will be fine.
I've never found anything that worked for sinueses other than medicine. Is there a reason he doesn't want you to take anything?
