I'm so confused, could I be pregnant?

I had unprotected sex a week before my expected period, and a week after my ovulation(that's based purely on cervical mucus) So my period did come but it was a few days late which isn't abnormal and it went away a day early i think. So i figured based on my ovulation and when I had sex there is no chance of being pregnant. But now I'm not so sure. I've been so nauseated lately, and tired, and my appetite has been pretty much non-existent. Like I know I need to eat because I hadn't eaten all day but I can't and when I do I can only eat a few bites. I've randomly thrown up three times which I really don't like. I haven't had any noticeable changes in my breast but they are already kinda big. So now I'm on my period and it really light. I can really keep a pad on all day and today is the 3rd day. I had no symptoms on my period this time which is VERY unusual for me because I can usually feel when it starts and when its coming but not this time. I only knew because I went to the bathroom. Oh and I've had gas like you wouldn't believe. And I;ve been having sharp pains in my side and every once in a while i get a stabbing pain in my breast but only for a second. But all the things I've been experiencing including this really light period are leading me to think I could possibly be pregnant but the scientific facts are telling me that I can't get pregnant a week before my period. I know I should take a test but I don't wanna waste my time if its not possible. Could I be pregnant?? Or what else can cause these things??

There is always a possibility, no matter when in your cycle, if you have unprotected sex you can get pregnant. It's a misconception that there is a 'safe' time when you cannot get pregnant. Since you said your period was late, you may have ovulated later than you thought. It is probably unlikely since you have gotten your period, but If you believe you may be pregnant, the only way to know is to test or to go to the doctor. Good luck!
