should i be concerned with too much fluid??

hey ladies!!
I had my check up today, my due date is on monday. When i was there i told her i havent been feeling well..and having flu like symptoms/not sleeping/back pain/contractions.
She told me i was measuring correctly..but was concerned bc she thought i may have too much amniotic fluid, so i am having a sonogram. She also thought he was about 8 pounds already. Should i be concerned if there is too much fluid?

stripping the membranes is when they go in and circle around the cervix to loosen up the tissue i believe?? it doesnt break the water.. any day before monday would be great!

I will keep you posted about my u/s today.. i go in at 230.

5 days is so close!  i have 23 days and i feel like it's right around the corner!  stripped your membranes...is that the same as breaking your waters?  was it painful?  yea, it is a shame that you have to stress about it...but you won't for much longer!  there is a full moon on saturday...they always say that hospitals are full of laboring women on the night of the full moon--i am putting my bid that saturday will be your date!

no baby yet!:-)

I still have 5 days until my due date.. I am going in today for a u/s to check my fluid levels and the size of the baby. I just hope everything is ok.
When i saw her yesterday she did a exam and stripped my membranes..? Everyone keeps telling me this will speed up the process of labor. so far nothing but some cramping.. I am just a little stressed now, it ***** that i have to stress out about this 5 days before me due date.. kind of scary.

oh girl, since i hadn't seen any posts from you, i had thought that maybe your day was here!!!  are you any further dialated?

i don't know much about having lots of fluid...  as long as doctor doesn't seem concerned, i wouldn't worry about it.  doctors usually don't try to sugar coat things so if there was a big issue about it, she probably wouldn't said more.  don't be too worried...just take lots of walks...it's been so beautiful outside!!  it will help you relax as well as maybe move you close to labor!

no, she didnt seem to too concerned.. I was measuring bigger in the begining of my pregnancy but for just for a few of my visits then all was fine.... I am measuring 39 weeks at this appt i just had which is right on...when she felt my belly and looked at it she thought there may be too much fluid. This whole pregnancy all of my tests have come back neg. and i have had a normal pregnancy.

Now i am so worried!

My mom had a high level of amniotic fluid at the end of her pregnancy with my brother.  She didn't have gestational diabetes or high blood pressure.  But, in her case, the high amount of amniotic fluid was indicative of a birth defect in my brother.  He was born with a heart condition and had open heart surgery at 2 days old.  No one knew that he would be born with this problem... but, as long as your doctors are not super worried, then I would say... try not to worry yourself :)  Did they explain possible reasons for your high level?

I had a ton of extra amniotic fluid with my youngest son. It can mean several things, such as birth defects, diabetes and high blood pressure. It also allows baby to move more freely in the womb so having a breech baby is also a very high possibility. The baby can go from head down position to breech almost instantly, so having a vaginal birth they need to monitor baby's position almost constantly.

I do not see how they think you have to much amniotic fluid if you are measuring correctly. I measured 45 weeks with my son at delivery even though I had him 2 weeks early.

I dont think there is anything to worry about in general, I always carry a lot of amniotic fluid with all my pregnancies, and all my children turned out 100% fine, I was also able to have a vaginal delivery with all of them.

They could possible reduce the amount of fluid, but beings you are so far along it is probably unlikely.
