just a little heads up on "contractions"

They might hurt or not even hurt at all. But if they're consistent and, won't,go away after moving, walking etc and over an hour or more then yes they might be contractions! My first pregnancy I had belly tightenings. My belly felt hard as a rock. But had NO pain, whatsoever. I was dilated a 3 cm, stayed stuck at 4 for a while but later was given pitocin.. when they broke my water.. that's when the real deal came up, I was around 7 and those hurt like he'll. So everyone's contractions are different. :) any other mommies who didn't experience hurtful contractions,?

With my first I was in intense pain with contractions all the way thru. When thy first started they were not too bad. But after abouta hour they got horrible! I had dilated to a 3 well before labor set in at 36 weeks. But the first 5 hours of labor I didn't get past a 4.  It was terrible. Now that I think about it tho I might have back labor cuz most of the pain was in my back lol!

I was in no pain at all and at 32 weeks I was sick as a dog and having braxton hick's contractions back to back. I called my doc and they to me to go to l&d and sure enough I was 2cm dilated.  Thank god I went when I did bc they were able to the contractions!

So weird that you just posted this!  I'm having so many contractions right now. Some feel like mild cramping and some have no feeling at all, just tightening. I'm 37& 4 days.. Don't think it's labor though..

my contractions really hurt but didn't follow the typical pattern.  It was a difficult birth because I was contracting and contracting at different intervals but my cervix wasn't opening.  Luckily, I went back to the hospital and a doctor finally took charge.

Very very true person is different when in labor and every pregnancy is different!  There may be a typical pattern but it doesn't mean everyone will have that same experience.

(but my contractions DID hurt like blazes.  Lucky ladies who didn't have that!)

I agree from 7-10 it went fast. I was in labor for only 5 hours that I know of could have been having contractions the whole with out knowing before hand. And it only took me 4 mins to push out my son. I hope your delivery goes well (:
