They cover similac in Alabama unless the doc writes it for something else...I worked at a grocery store ans people got enfamil and pediasure for there baby.
It is based on where you live. I'm in Tn and they only cover good start.
Oh then it must be where you live because I live in MA and they do Enfamil
Im in az, wic only covers similac.
Where are you from? My son is on enfamil and I receive WIC and they provide it for him since he was born.
Contact a lactation consultant from the hospital you delivered at or the la leche league. They told me to take fenugreek and blessed thistle. Also try mothers milk tea.
As for pumping, try turning it on a lower setting and pumping for five minutes after the last drop. Too much pumping at a high suction level can potentially damage breast tissue.
Also, if you're fan of oatmeal cookies, try making a batch of lactation cookies and pumping every two hours.
Sabrinna try talking to ur doc they can recommend vitamins and supplements that can help u or a lactation specialist.
I was on wic with my daughter and had to use similac I hated it because it bubbled sooo bad.. we don't approve this time so Im using enfamil hopefully.
Im trying out the pumping and im not sure if im producing enough, I've been on for half an hour and not even to an ounce yet, my milk is coming out super slow and the pumping level if all the way up. How can I help myself produce more?
My son is goin to be 4 months on the 1st he is on similac advanced and doing wonderful my older son is 10 goin on 11 and used the same for him my daughter is goin to be 4 and she used enfamil lipil AR she needed help with her weight she dropped below 5lbs she was 5lbs 8oz and that helped her alot
Just depends on your kiddos tummy. When I had my daughter and supplemented with formula, the hospital gave me and recommended Enfamil. That was 5 yrs ago...when WIC provided Enfamil. Eventually you'll lean towards either nursing more or formula and as I'm sure you've discovered - that crap is expensive!! LOL I call it "crack for kids" since its a white powdery substance... Anyway, try what WIC has to offer and see how he handles it. If it works out, better for the both of you.
I use enfamil gentlelease for my daughter every now and then...(I'm breastfeeding)...and she does great...it relives her gas and fussiNess...I love it!
If you plan on using wic for the formula, you'll have to use the brand they provide. However, if your baby has a milk protein intolerance and its documented by trips to the er and pediatrician, you can have your ped fill out a form to switch the formula. It has to be approved by the state dietician and you have to have the forms renewed every other month. I had to go through this with my daughter, and her formula was $26 a can bc she was on Alimentum. I would personally try to get a nipple shield to help him latch to the breast better. If he's still hungry after you offer the breast, give him the formula. If you dont plan on using wic, I'd keep him on the current formula you are using.
My son is breast fed and formula. I just don't produce enough to fill him not matter what I try ): but he is on similac for formula the blue one. He doesn't have a problem switching back and forth no constipation/gas/or excessive spit up or anything like that.
