smokers??

Are any of u ladies smokers and if you are how often do you smoke daily? I'm a smoker and it's a lot harder to quit than I thought it was going to be and I am worried about what it's going to do to the baby, I'm 28 weeks and 2 days.

My mom smoked with all four of her kids.. i am 20 years old and perfectly fine. and my brothers girlfriend was around second hand smoke and her son is also fine. As long as you arent smoking waaaay too much you should be fine.. I know a lot of people who still smoke while being pregnant and everything turned out oohkaye for the baby.

My mom smoked with all four of us too. We 2 out of the 4 have asthma. And I'm one of the 2 who has it. And I even smoked.

Hun, just do what you can for right now. Of course you know the consequences of smoking. Everyone does. But don't stress yourself out about it. If you're slowing down, then High five. That's a closer stepping stone to quitting. Maybe now you can only do it once in the morning and once at night. And chew lots of gum in between. Just do what you can for now. :)

I don't think they can check for asthma, I'm just talking about the cleft lip.

I think everyone should be supportive. Not downing her. For all you know she truly doesn't understand the affects. And being mean won't do anything but make her wanna smoke more.

I stopped smoking w my 1st at 7 mos my Dr actually told me that me smoking was better on baby then the stress of quiting at that point then at 5 mos I started cutting way back and by 7 mos I was completely done it's Def hard to do sometimes and some ppl don't understand .. cutting back is Def a good start . I always thought oh as soon as I found out I'm preg I'm done not so easy w my first due to personal reasons .. my second pregnancy as soon as I saw a positive test I was done but I also new I could do it and once I wasn't smoking it wasn't as hard to quit .. it's a routine ur in its Def hard .. if trying to quit I just ate a healthy snack when ev i needed a cig or I'd chew some gum it Def helped .. my son was 8lbs 4 Oz and I was induced at 39 wks  but according to tests he was 38wks do I Def got lucky he was a good sized baby and I didn't have him pre term .My Dr also told me cold turkey that far along isn't good for baby that it will cuz to much stress so what u r doing is exactly what u should do
