smoking in the house?

My fiance and i live in a 3 bedroom apartment........with his mother.....we pay equal portions of the rent and all that. Before we had moved in, it was agreed upon that there would be no smoking in the apartment. I was happy, because i quit smoking after getting pregnant, no way did i want that to go to waste. Well, guess what.

they keep smoking in the damn house. It smells disgusting to me now and i really dont want baby around it.im also borrowing stuff from smokefree houses and do not want it getting smelly and yellow from the nicotine.

Im very passive, and uncomfortable with getting rude about it if need be. So the question:
1. Am i overreacting over this? Its caused a lot of arguments between my fiance and i.

2. How can i approach this without sounding rude or naggy?

3. Anyone else in the mood for a brownie sundae (hold the pickles, please!)

Thank you for listening and any answers!

Thank you, guys soo much. I was concerned that i was being too over protective or something. My aunt told my fiance he should quit simply because i made that sacrifice. Not much of a sacrifice if you ask me, Im so happy I quit! My thing is that i gave this up for our baby to have a healthier start than either of us, i dont want it to feel like it was all in vain.

No second hand smoke in the house increases the risk of SIDS. Pull up info and make them a slideshow of how bad smoking is for the new baby.

Just remind them that you ask had agreed to not smoke in the house. And since baby is almost here,  you want a smile free house for the baby. And if they could start getting used to that.

I would just mention to whoever is smoking in the house that your getting closer to your due date and would like if people could start going outside to smoke. Could she smoke in her bedroom and that be okay for you? If not just tell them no one be able to smoke when the baby is living there so they might want to start getting adjusted now.
