The only known fact about smoking while pregnant is low birthwheight... i admit i still smoke and am 5 days till my due date baby is growing just fine... i have alot of stress and depression issues and a cigarette helps calm my nerves... and stress is more harmful on a baby then smoking.... just wat i did was slowed down on how much i smoke

I think there's a reason the warning label on cigarettes warns against pregnancy complications. A lot of pregnant women get motivated to quit and baby does not have withdrawal. :)

Thanks ladies! I totally agree with all of you. Im not a smoker and never have been, but my best friend is pregnant as well right now and I was lecturing her about smoking and her excuse is that its more stress to the baby to quit, and that's she's been smoking sense the beginning and the baby doesnt know the difference so its not harming him! I try ti mind my own business but I wanted to prove a point, I love her and her baby and I don't want to see either of then suffer. Ill pass on the knowledge :)

There's a Positive Changes here, a medical hypnosis center, and people quit smoking with their assistance all the time.  It might be worth a try since you certainly can't take anti-smoking drugs.

first of all it says right on the cigarette box that smoking while pregnant can cause premature birth, low birth weight, and birth defects.

i am a former smoker (half pack a day) and quit within a week of finding out i was pregnant. every time you smoke you cut off oxygen to your baby from your blood stream. i felt sooo guilty even thinking about wanting a cig. i had a total of three cigs the week i quit and then threw out my cigs. i replaced them with gum. i was scared that the stress from quitting would hurt my baby but smoking does more harm than the stress of quitting. its completely doable.

It is very possible to quit totally if u put ur child's health in the front of ur mind before ur person cravings u can completely stop I was a heavy weed smoker n cig smoker soon I found out the same day I quit cold turkey but the only thing that helped me quit was always thinking of making sure I have a healthy baby n not being selfish n just thinking of my own habit but some may need to slow down before quiting but I think u should definitely quit eventually till the baby is born just my opinion

I'm almost positive premature birth & low birth weight are most common from smoking while pregnant! I think slowing down on smoking is safer than just quitting all @ once. I also think if it's too hard of a habit to quit all @ once.. you should at least lower the amount as much as possible!

I don't think it's worth to smoke while pregnant. It doesn't make sense putting an innocent baby's life in complication. I honestly don't respect women that continues to do this knowing that they're expecting. How can someone choose cigaret/weed or whatever they smoking over their baby
