Hi. I'm just curious in people's opinions of something. I am an ex smoker. No longer have the habit. My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. A lot of parents from the daycare have come in abusing the child care Centre as they're smokers and there young children keep telling them they're going to die. In my opinion it benefits the child's health as they are aware of second hand smoking and it may encourage their parents to quit. What do you think? Has the daycare done the right thing or no?

I think its both positive and negative. It teaches the kids the dangers of smoking/second hand smoke and the problems it can cause as well as the result od death. As for the negative, the kids with the smoking patents are now worrying about losing their parent(s) due to the day care. Im an ex smoker myself. I think the daycare should ask the parents if they would like them to inform kids of the dangers so the parents can help inform as well and so tke kids dont panic that the mother or father is going to die

I beleive that they have. Should they not teach the benefits of eating veggies and fruits because the child's parent may have horrible diet habits? It is the leading cause for lung and laryngeal cancer. It's good we teach children at a young age. I know my son knows. He let's the family members know how dangerous it is, that it causes cancer, and askS why they want to smoke. Sometimes it can help persuade others to quit if a child can understand the dangerrs.

but I dont like  smoking as and the smil of somking just make me sick. I also feel that people who somkin public plases lead to increse of the numbr of people who smoke becouse more children and teen are exposed to smoking at such young age...
