You will heal faster with a vaginal birth than a C section.

Some docs will schedule a csection if requested... I have had a great pregnancy and I have chosen to do a vaginal birth with the epidural.. reguardless of what other people think it's my baby and my body and I fell like if I don't want to put myself through this then I don't have to :-)

Csections are terrible. Ive had 2 and going to have to have another.  The recovery is long, miserable and depressing. You have to depend on others for much longer than necessary with a natural birth.

The relationship between a woman's body and her fetus/child is amazingly intricate and perfectly designed. I wouldn't mess around with that unless it was an emergency.

Tensing up when you have your cervix checked (which is not needed btw) is completely different to having a baby. When you're in labour & baby is coming you're full of hormones & adrenalin & you just naturally do what needs to be done. Your Dr is wrong for telling you you won't be able to push baby out, he's just making your anxieties worse.

C-section is major abdominal surgery and should only be done in emergencies. There are medicines that can be used for vaginal births, it doesn't have to be nothing or c-section. For me, unless it was dire I would never have a c-section.

I don't know where its available but in my what to expect when your expecting book it says you can choose csection as your birth plan. On a personal level just my opinion I had my son vaginal I would say natural but I had the epidural, so I don't know if you still counts. This time around I hope to have her vaginal. Im terrified of surgery.

There is big controversy that surrounds doctors that perform elective c-sections that are not medically necessary. 99 percent may go exactly as planned, but there are risks (as there always are). I advise you to research elective c sections, risk factors, possible complications ect before asking the doc for one. I, for one, would be very leary of a doctor who would opt to perform a surgery that is not medically necessary.

Actually the care isn't much with a c-section, just keep it clean, and obviously no overdoing it, but I was healed and felt completely normal within a week and half after my c-section, of course I couldn't lift or do things for very long for a few weeks, but it wasn't as painful as I'd though. I'm sure a vaginal birth hurts much less afterwards.

Natural would be your only option unless your doc had a different opinion for some medical reason. IF for some reason I actually had the option I'd choose natural. Only a couple days before I'm feeling back to normal. I could only imagine what women go through after a C-section, the pain and after care would be so much extra not needed.

I don't think I'd ever actually ask for a c section. I'm terrified of going under a knife but that's just me. Vaginal is better if you can manage it, as there is a lot less down time after having the baby that way than a cesarean. Cesareans will have you down for weeks, which makes it difficult to take care of a newborn on your own, and thanks to the stitches there are quite a few restrictions as well. Being able to properly shower for a while being one of them. After caring for a cousin that had a cesarean, I know for sure that I do not want to go there unless its forced!

I agree with the other ladies, if you can, do it natural. Either way it's scary, but if you do end up having to have a c-section, it's not that bad!

Some doctors will do a volunteery csection. My SILs water broke at 1am, by noon she was only at a 3 1/2cm and they didnt do anything to help progress her (they would have, they just wanted her to wait a lil longer), but she decided the pain was to much and told her doc to do a csection and he did the csection at 1:30pm the same day even tho medically there wasnt a reason.

I dont feel like I will be able to push him out either but im deff goin to try because its best to have a vaginal birth in my opinion.

A vaginal birth is much better than a c section. I've had two c sections and they were horrible. And to those saying you don't think you can push a baby out, you will never know until you try. It's amazing what our bodies are capable of!! Not to mention there are many methods of pain relief to use!!

I want a csection because I dont think I'll be able to push the baby out. I have really hard time wen my doc  checks my cervix he always tells me i'm not going to be able to push if I cant handle him checking me. And I seen birthing videos and I have been traumatized

You cant really choose a csection its given if you have complications Wen u are trying to deliver naturally. I have tried asking my doc for a csection but he said only if there are complications wen i'm trying to push. I had a healthy pregnancy and i'm 40w+1d
