Hospital bag

I'm 34+5 weeks and I'm going to barely going to start packing my hospital bags this week. Just wondering what to pack. I have a good idea but I want to make sure I don't forget anything.

Once the baby is born it's up to you if you want to wear the hospital gown till you get discharged. Unless I've had a c section and am in too much pain to wear pants Id be more comfortable wearing my own clothes when they make me walk around.

Plus I have such a big immediate family. Then my close friends will want to come visit. Then also have the fathers family which I don't know them very well. So I'd rather be in something I'm comfortable wearing specially around so many people

@valariem214 congrats!! It's scary starting all over huh? I feel like I'm more scared this time around than the first time lol. What healthy snacks did you take? And i thought about the pillow but didn't know if it was necessary or if it would just take up a lot of room.

@carols94 a list on the door is a good idea. I was just going to buy everything I use on a daily basis in a travel size to make sure I didn't forget anything. But maybe the list is better and it'll save me some cash

One good thing is get travel size items takes up less room. And to make a list and tape it to the front door because some items you'll still be using until labor. And you don't wanna forget it.

Just had my baby yesterday and in hospital now.... don't forget plenty of healthy snacks whether or not you are planning on breastfeeding! I feel you on the whole long time since doing this- my first daughter is 7yrs old!@aprilmomma is spot on with what you need to pack- I packed exact same things... oh and bring your bobby feeding pillow for sure
Good luck :)

Completely forgot about mittens for the baby! I don't even have any for him. Looks like more shopping lol.

And I can't remember if after I have the baby if I can change or if I have to stay in the hospital gown til I get discharged? Its been almost 5 years since I had my firtborn.

I made a list of what to pack and checked off what I've already put in my bag that way I can remember what else I still need to add. Here's what I have:

Bobby pin
Elastic
Brush
Chapstick
Deodorant
Body wash
Toothbrush/toothpaste
Face wipes
Lotion
Pads (hospital gives them but just incase I packed a few)
Flip flops
Socks
Underwear/Bra
Pair of Shorts and sweats and a tshirt
Sweater (or house coat)
Outfit to wear home
Phone and kindle charger
Kindle (you'll want something to keep you entertained when no ones there and baby's asleep)
Wallet (you need an ID for the birth certificate and some cash for vending machines or cafeteria incase you want something to eat or drink)

Baby:

Onsie
Outfit
Socks
Mittens
Hat
Bib
Soother
Blanket

Never know what the weather is like for me so blanket incase it's too chilly out. And I've learned bring something extra for them to wear home just incase they spit up or drool while waiting to be discharged.
