Keep drinking lots of water and try to keep moving to keep circulation. If you ankles and feet are really getting bad sometimes they will have you wear tent hose (special socks) which promote circulation. Also keep your feet up when you can, when I feel my ankles swelling at work and I cant keep my feet up I will do ankle pumps to keep things circulating.

I've always said you can tell when a woman is close because they puff up.  Not weight gain, but swelling.  With my first two i could only wear flipflops cuz thats all that would fit my fat feet.  My cheeks looked like chipmunks and my lips were like Angelina Jolie.  Swelling is normal, but like the above said drink plenty of water as it flushes out toxins and monitor your bp.

I had such bad swelling that it was up into my abdomen(pitting edema)... there was no definition to my feet or ankles i just had a "fold" where my foot went ot my ankle... i had no feeling left in my hands for a long time... it was bad, in the one week i gained 10 lbs! there really isnt much you can do, put your feet up whenever possible, continue to take walks to keep your circulation going... drink lots of water, none of this helped me... only weeks after delivery did it go away...

The main concern is to keep an eye on your BP and make sure its not being effected... mine never changed
And the swelling can be everywhere! ive seen lots of mommas with swelling in their face as well
