Doctor won't allow induction. Suggestions?

So I had my 33 week check up yesterday and I asked about possibly being induced because I have gestational diabetes. He said they would rather just schedule a c-section if he's too big, and I'm terrified of having to have one. He said I was measuring where I was supposed to be, but at my ultrasound last week I was also told that my baby boy was on the bigger side (almost 5lbs!). So if it's safe I want to try and self induce when I'm further along to see if I can have him naturally before/if he gets too big. So if you ladies have any safe and harmless ways to induce please share (: When the time comes I'll probably take longer walks and start doing squats. Anything else you did that you think really helped?

If I could induce naturally without the hospitals help I would be happy. But if it comes down to it I would want them to induce me before automatically having a c-section. I'm not in any rush to get him out right now.

Can I ask why you can't just wait and have it naturally without induction or c section? Honestly my first child was 9lbs and hurt less than my second who was only 7 12. It's OK to have a big baby.

I know. I don't want a c-section unless he's breeched (and he's been heads down since 24 weeks) so I know that won't be an issue. But if it comes time to push and he's stuck, then yes I know it's needed. But he doesn't even want to give me a chance to go naturally. And it's bullcrap.

A doctor should avoid c section unless medically necessary. That's like major surgery.... it's your Decision whether or not u have a c section. ..unless of course it's needed.

I wouldn't worry to much about size right now my son at 33 wks measured 5 lb 9 oz ultrasounds can be off by 13 oz. But other naturals ways are walking squats you can use primrose oil raspberrytea leaf cinnamon tea

I definitely will. They always talk negative about c-sections, but won't hesitate to tell you that it's what you have to do. I'm also 5'3", and if she can give birth like that I don't see why they won't at least let me try.

Oh wow yeah that's a tough one. Well you can tell them you refuse to have a c section if baby is just measuring big. Because honestly there is no medical reason for a c section. My mom was 5'3" and gave birth vaginally just fine to me and I was 10.13 lbs

I know. I've heard so many women being induced because of it and I would really like to try that first. The thing is my OB office is part of my hospital, I don't even have a set doctor. It's just whoever is there when the time comes. So I've talked to 5 different doctors already. I would love to switch but where I'm going now is the closest and easiest with us not having a working car. Thank you for the ideas though!

I personally think you should switch doctors. That's ridiculous for him to jump straight to c section before induction just because baby is getting big. But walking, sex, primrose oil, castor oil(not until youbare full term though) but none of those things will work of you aren't ready. And I wouldn't trust the ultrasound weights they can be off by a couple lbs

I did walking an that seemed to be the only thing that worked to get the contractions going a lot more. Also you can try having sex
