When I was pregnant with my son I didn't want cold water and have been drinking room temperature water.  It's so friggin cold where I live I just can't bring myself to drink cold water!

I've been pretty thirsty too, but no matter how much I drink, I can't get enough ... or when I do drink something it makes me nauseous.  So it's a lose-lose situation.  I've been adding Crystal Light packets to my water, since just plain water seems to make me feel more sick.  I agree that the colder it is, the better.  I've also been drinking some CranApple juice too so I don't get sick of drinking the same thing over and over again!

Hopefully our thirstiness will get quenched soon!!

I always drank room temperature water and as soon as I got pregnant all I could drink was frozen water!  It helped a bit with morning sickness and it was sooooo good.  The whole frozen water thing stopped after 15 weeks or so, which is the same time my morning sickness stopped.

Thanks - I'll get some tomorrow. I did buy some Kool-Aid today b/c the water is driving me nuts and I've got to have something else.

try pedialyte or gatorade. the extra electrolites help keep you hydrated and rehydtrate you when your thirsty.

The doctor I met with today just said before surgery on Friday to suck on ice chips... She didn't address the fact that I'm so thirsty I feel crazy...  I'll check with the OB's office on Wed and see what I learn!

I had a banana today - love them.  I'll try the cold water but I live in MN and the temperatures are UNREAL right now - chilly!  I have my first prenatal on Wed and a physical tomorrow (having a kidney stone out Friday) so I'll ask the medical folks I see and post on here what I find out. Thanks for the responses ladies!

I am the same way and rememebr that is a sign of gestational diabeties. I am dehydrated though alot from throwing up too.

My dr said that pregnancy is a diuretic! WOW never knew that till Saturday and this is my 7th pregnancy! So I would drink like a fish before and still be thirsty and get dehydrated. So he said that when you are that low even if the urine test says you are not dehydrated that you have low potassium and that the best thing to eat for that is dreid prunes! They have more potassium and less carbs and fat then banannas or potatoes. So I eat the ones soaked in orange juice which I love. Try that and maybe you will even feel better!!!! Hope it works for you!

I am soo not a milk drinker but for some reason I cannot get enough milk to quench my thirst. I add a little choc sauce to make it taste better though - as I hate the taste usually. I also used to drink my beverage (water) room temp and now I NEED it to be practically frozen. Cold water works soo much better for me that not so cold water.
