to induce or not induce

I am a ftm and am due Dec 30th so u have plenty of time to decided but am starting to worry now. My husband is and truck driver and he is only home every other weekend for Friday evening till Sunday morning. Well I live 3 hours from both my family and his, I have a step daughter who will be 6 yo and I live 45 min from the hospital ... so delivering/going into labor alone scares me. Also who will watch our other daughter while I'm delivering. My aunt has volunteered to stay with me once I get closer which will be nice but I'm still scared my husband will miss our baby being born. I originally wanted to go completely all natural but now I am tossing the idea around to be induced.  I don't want my husband to miss the birth of our first child together :-( I feel like if I choose to induce that I can better plan but I'm worried about the risk of induction. So I guess my question is what have been your experiences with being induced or have you been in a similar situation?

And I was terrified to be induced because my mom said it hurt worse then natural labor but I still did it and it wasn't that bad felt like my 1st baby ..I mean it still hurts but not like I expected matter of fact my 1st baby hurt worse then my induction baby

I was in a situation kinda the same my hubby was leaving for 2 weeks and if I didn't have her by December 3 he would miss the birth and not be able to see her ..my due date was November 29 so I made the decision to get induced on December 1st

I think you should go natural. They only induce you for medical reasons( in uk anyway). Its best you let your body deliever your baby when its ready rather then forcing contractions. Plus the experiance is more painful. Can your husband not take paternity leave? Plus your baby will be ready to come and join you from 37 weeks so you could not even reach the full 40 weeks to be induced.

Abbb01... thank you :-) I'm just hoping I'll get lucky and go into labor while hubby is home. But like you said I need to make plans for every scenario :-) I've always wanted natural and would like to stick to it as much as possible. I would just really like my husband to be there for the birth of our first child.

I believe natural is better but in ur situation I dont think anyone should fault u for wanting to induce (and if they do dont listen to them everyone is different and everyones life is different and theyre not u) I was induced with my 1st and everything went great but the risks for csection are increased. I would suggest just making several scenario plans as doc wont usually induce until 39 weeks unless medically necessary but if u go into labor after 37 weeks they wont stop labor. Just saying lots of things can happen n babies do what they want when they want just make plans for if this happens or if that happens.

I wouldn't induce unless medical reasons behind it. I would love to go naturally but not allowed to and that was the same with my first. I think people who can and are allowed to go naturally should take that chance and do it that way. Good luck hun x
