to young?

Im 19 and pregnant with baby #2 I already have a 20 month old daughter but today at my midwife appointment she was telling me I was to young to be having a second baby to put it nicely she basically told me to shut my legs.  Both my babies have the same day so my question is do you think im to young to have 2 babies. Its really getting to me and I want to know what other people think

I'm 20 and pregnant with my 1st, but I have a few friends who are my age and younger with 2/3 children. I'm not one to cast judgement as long as you feel that you are able to cope. If you are looking after your children and are able to provide for them then don't pay attention to what anyone else says. If on the other hand you are struggling and your children's welfare is being questioned then I would agree, but only because by having children you are not only making your life difficult but also the life of your babies. But don't let other people's opinions deter you from living :-)

Well i am in the same but my son is 3 and now i am 31 weeks and my due date falls on my birthday so i will be 20. But i dont care what others think my kids have the same chance to i was given. My son has it made and so will my daughter when she is here. As long as your kids are healthy and have everything they need dont let anyone run your life. I live by that but it may be the taurus in me lol.

I agree. Age doesn't make a good mother. I've known women in their late twenties and even forties who were having babies and weren't exactly mom of the year. No one is a perfect mom, but my mil had two babies by 20 and had been married to their dad since she was 15 years old.

If you can't provide for your children, or are struggling, you need to consider birth control after this baby is born or you will get pregnant again. I'm 23 with my second. I had my first at 21. I'm young, but I've been married since 19, we bought a house, are financially able to care for our children, having three running vehicles, etc. so, like I said, age doesn't mean you can or can't provide. But it is harder for teenage mothers than mothers who wait.

No you are not too young. People do it all the time. How rude of her to even say anything to you about that!!!! I would have told her off that isn't right

Also, you need find another midwife. Your age, unless it presents a health risk, shouldn't have been brought up. It's very unprofessional not to mention hurtful.

When I had my miscarriages, the nurse was telling my I was too young to be having kids. :/ I was 21. Lol so what I'm saying is everyone has their own opinions. Its unprofessional of her.

I'm 25, own a house, teach high school and I'm married. I still get some people commenting on my age. Particularly when I tell them my first is in Kindergarten! I think you're going to have people criticizing you any way you go. But that does sound very unprofessional of her.

I'm 25 and have been with my husband for almost 11 years. We have 4 kids and our oldest is 9. Were pregnant with baby #5. I get some people that freak out because I don't look like I have 4 kids but were financially stable and we have a great marriage so why not while were young. Who cares what anyone else thinks. I don't because they don't live my life I do and its my choice. As long as your happy and you take good care of your children and can provide for them do what you want.

And nicole is right your Dr shouldn't comment on your age. My Dr refused to tie my tubes after our 4th son Max. He said he knew I would regret it so he wouldn't do it because I was still young. I was 23 when he was born.

I'm 21 in may and 16 weeks pregnant with my second. I have a 2 year old son. Same dad for both my babies. We have been together almost 5 years. Both have full time jobs and have our own house. Age has nothing to do with how you support and take care of them. As long as your doing it

I think your midwife should mind her own business, that was very rude of her. Yes you are young, but that doesn't make you "too young".

i dont think age is really the matter i think its what you are doing with your life i just turned 25 and we are 32 weeks with our 3rd baby and when i take my oldest to pre-school everyone looks at me like i'm 12 and when some of the other moms foudn out we were having another baby i got commets like how do you afford it, are you sure you want another one you jsut got done with high school i'm like really, as long as you are doing what you need to do in life to support your children i wouldn't worry about it

My friend is twenty and she has three kids. They're all well taken card of and provided for. Age doesn't make a difference.

Agreed. I'm 19 about to be 20 March 15. My son is 27 months old & I am 37w 1d pregnant with my second baby. I could careless what others think of me. It's my life, my choices & how I go about spacing my kids out in age is my decision not my doctors, parents or especially anyone who has no room to point fingers. Good luck with your pregnancy!!

You are not too young at all. You're with the same person and if you guys are ready to be parents then you're ready. Don't let it get to you that's just negativity that you don't need during this time of your life :) also, I know more than a couple girls who are preggers with another child and they are only 20 or younger!

i would change drs because nobody is going to tell me that im to young. i came to you as a dr not to be my mother. thats maybe why i would never have a midwife.... and second no as long as your taking care of your children then thats all that matters age is just a number they have 15 yrs old having babies. as long as the child is in good hand thats the only priority ppl should worry about...

If you think youre too young listen to this. Im 17 years old and live on my own with my fiance. I am 16 weeks pregnant and this is my fourth pregnancy. My first son is a healthy almost 2 year old. Then July 20th 2012 i gave birth to my angel baby. He passed away july 24th due to not being matured enough. I had him about 2 mlnths early. In october the same year i miscarried and am now pregnant with my fourth! I guess you can say im very very fertile. However, i am very well able to take care of my kids. So dont listen when someone says youre too young because now youll always remember my story! Haha best of luck. (:
