contractions or hicks? 37 weeks

So yesterday I got out the shower and I was having really bad cramps with tighing feels in my lower abdomen, and I told my mom and we started timing them they were irregular but constant.. (And I didn't want to go to the hospital cuz of last time they just send me home and I had a bladder infection with a lot of discharge...) Anyways now I only get these cramps and tighing feeling when I'm walking around..and I don't get them as hard as I do when I'm laying down... Has anyone had this before?

Exactly what she said above. Real contractions wont stop if you change positions they will be consistent and regular and eventually get closer together but they will still be consistent. If they stop or go away then its braxton hicks

If they are no longer constant then they are Braxton hicks. Real contractions won't stop and start. That's the only way I knew the difference between mine because they felt identical for me, but the BH weren't always constant.
