update!! im being induced

Hi ladies!! I hope everyone is well. Congrats to those whom have had their little ones. May 31st was my due date and I'm still pregnant. The doctor has decided to induce me on June 5th then I will have her on the 6th. Were so anxious to meet our Aubree but I'm kind of scared and nervous. This is our first so I really have no idea what to expect during labor. I do plan on receiving an epidural. Are there any tips you ladies can give me or help me not be scared of everything. I worry about ripping or having them cut me?? Please help me out if you all can. Thank you so much!!!!

You will be fine.. being induced can sometiems be more intense .. But Labor is fun.. it is so exciting...  I also made it to 8cm without drugs and I could have kept going if i wasnt so tired.. I had a long labor that stalled out quite a bit and happen all over night...  Contractions started at like 3am on the 15th...  I went to the hospital at 8pm being 6 cm dilated.. and she was born at like 9 43am on the 16th.  and they dont let you eat so I was so sick by the end, that i took the epidural to rest.. But i dindt find it nearly as painful as I believe it would be.. I got lucky as my baby was in a great position.

It is the best moment when you push the baby out so keep your eye on the prize... It feels like a huge accomplishment.

First off, everyone is different so labor may NOT be horrible. No labor is the same and u could push for hours or push for minutes. Everyones pain tolerance is different also. But yes, its gonna hurt when u push something outta ur vag. Lol. I am due in 11 days and will possibly be induced in 5. I am super excited and scared also. I will be getting an epidural. Just remember to breath and that women have been doing this for years :) good luck.

I may be wrong, but I think your chances of tearing or being cut are increased with an epidural...possibly because you are in a fixed position on your back and baby has to come up rather than down as it would if you were on all fours. I had a bad tear with my first (I was on my back because I was induced with the drip and wasnt allowed to move) but had nothing at all with my second (I was on all fours and had a spontaneous labour). If youre being induced with the drip then I would certainly recommend an epidural as the contractions are much more painful than a 'natural' labour...but if you start labour before your induction you may find that you cope better than you think you will, I would simply say be aware of all your pain relief options and let your body take over the hard work, it knows what to do! Best of luck to you (and if you do have a tear or cut it will heal in around 6wks or less depending how bad it is, mine was particularly bad and took at least 6wks but I know I was fairly comfortable by 6wks...see I've even forgotten how long it took me to recover!).

I had my little guy on May 30, he was my first and I had no idea what to expect! I made it to 8cm with no drugs, but had to get the epidural due to high blood pressure. But, it's pain like no other, but as soon as you give birth, the pain just goes away!
