I was given one because I requested it. I had my mother in the delivery room and I knew she couldn't handle the sight of it without vomiting. So no poop for me :)

My body naturally cleaned itself out right before I went into the hospital. But yeah I've never heard of that.

I pooped when I was pushing. They don't even care. They cover it up and when your all do they wash the blood an everything off of you. I didn't know I pooped til the day I went home. My boyfriend told me lmao

Just monitor what you eat and make sure it will digest easily so u dont end up on pooping while pushing. Its a bit awkward you know. Thats what im doing right now. Just eat a lil bit. What scared me is the will cut me down there again as i have hatd time pushing as my baby is a bit bigger from what we expect before..

Omg I'm getting induced on Sunday and I am so scared to eat anything today or a few hours before going to the hospital cuz I don't want to end up pooping all over myself while I'm pushing. Would it be recommended I get an Enema to avoud this from happening?

I haven't heard of giving you anything beforehand. But it happens so often it doesn't phase the nurses whatsoever. I don't even remember if I did when I had my first son. Its really not a big deal.

They will give you one after to make your stools soft so you're not straining and putting pressure on yourself right after delivery. It helped me. I was terrified to poop after having my son..or even pee.
I don't recall doing it before. I had a catheter though because of an epidural.

Never tried that when i gave birth to my first.. As i know its nearly my due date. I limit what i eat and make sure its easy to digest so i dont have a hard time pooping... And dont need to push to much..

They don't do that at my hospital. Pooping is unfortunately very common and the nurses wipe it up and move on. They don't seemed that concerned by it to try to avoid it from happening.
