waxing during pregnancy

Question

I've booked a hollywood wax this afternoon. 38+1 and want to feel somewhat neat and tidy when I eventually go into labour.

I've heard waxing during pregnancy is more painful. Does anyone have any first hand experience? I cant wait to be smooth.. I gave up trying to shave weeks ago haha (sorry tmi!)

I was so smalle when I was pregnant all baby. I excersied a lot thought. Made an easy delievery .. well recovery because I had a c Section but anyhow I shaved all the way through lol I never like hair down there but I wanted to be tidy to Ive never waxed although id like to someday sounds painful you know..it being all sensitive down there and all. But hey go for it let us know what the pain was like .. and congrats !!!

Haha yeah I gave up on shaving - standing in the shower without slipping is hard enough without trying to try to move into angles that reach around my bump

Ok thanks maybe I will give it a try!!  Shaving is becoming quite the task and I'm only 31 weeks so I can't imagine how it will be later on lol

I've had a few but never been able to afford them regularly. I honestly think the wax I had before this one (before I was pregnant) was more painful and that was with warm wax. This time I got a hot wax (where the wax itself hardens and they remove it without a strip), it was so much less stingy because the wax only sticks to the hair not your skin. 

Afterwards it barely hurt at all, the beautician said that pregnant women are prone to a bit more bleeding and swelling because of all the extra blood going to that area but I haven't noticed anything. I'm really glad I got it done, I feel a bit more prepared now :)

Hey thanks for answering I was wondering about it too.  Had you been getting waxed a lot before your pregnancy?  I used to get Brazilians but I haven't hadone in  a looong time so I'm scared to get waxed while pregnant

Now that I've been to the salon I thought I'd answer my own question in case anyone is interested - I got a hot wax (so much better than warm) and it was nowhere near as bad as I expected.. The worst bit was getting into position actually :)

I've honestly never done waxing so I wouldnt know if it is more painful, but I have heard your risk for infection in your skin goes up. So please be careful.
