what if you cant produce milk the first days in the hospital?

What happens? I'm scared I won't be able to produce enough milk for my baby whenshe comes out. I do NOT want her to formula feed and I do NOT want her drinking from a bottle because of nipple confusion. So what would happen to her? Would I have no other choice? I don't want her to starve. But how common is it not to be able to produce milk the first couple days? Does it matter if you have been leaking before pregnancy?  Been leaking my whole pregnancy so will I have a good milk supply. I'm a ftm. So I have lots of questions.

Its definitely enough because their tummies are so small. Not even the size of a walnut yet. I am currently purely breastfeeding my second and also already have a 100 oz freezer stock (2 and a half weeks old) and breastfed my first for 14 months as well. Just keep in mind if someone tells you to top up with a bottle it isnt needed most of the time. You seem very determined which is great with breastfeeding. If you have any questions feel free to message me :)

I'm very stubborn I don't plan on giving up easy lol. Just because I am really set of breast feeding! But I love water and that's all I been drinking my whole pregnancy. Soda makes me feel gross lol. But thank you. Good luck with this baby when you breast feed momma! :)

Drink lots of water and don't give up. I gave up with my 1st and ended up regretting it. I taught she wasn't gettin anything and was really I didn't know how to latch her on properly. She ended up bottle feeding and I was in real pain since I was full of milk after some days. This time I'm prepared to breastfeed.

Youd be surprised how much milk you may or may not have! After i gave birth the brought me a hospital breast pump because my son was in the nicu and i couldnt see him right away and i filled up 4 8oz bottles all the nurse kept saying was you did a great job!

In my breast feeding class they say if you feed often your milk supplys more so I plan on doing that. But I feel like my colostrum won't make her little tummy full because its really not a lot. Thank you so much for answer Ny question! :)

Exactly @destinies thank you. I took breast feeding classes from my midwife and from wic but they don't tell you anything I asked. I feel like if my post annoys you then don't even comment and move on.

You should be fine. Baby will drink the colostrum for the first few days and then after a few days your milk will come in. After a week or 2 your supply will steady out and you wont feel so full because your body knows how much to produce then. Skin to skin can help and relaxing as well. Stress plays a big factor with our bodies. Good luck momma you will be fine.

There are book that cover all of the questions us moms have. This is a support group for questions we may have. If we all went out and bought books on ever question we encounter this forum would be pointless. I have taken breastfeeding classes as well and that was something that was never covered.

Yea I get that there's books but I'm just asking for the moms who already had kids. And I did take a breast feeding class but all they told me was ways and positions to breast feed and why its healthy for the baby. Relax.

Baby books are a big help read them to answer all questions. If you are leaking it's fine because means your boobs are producing milk. You just have to be patient with babies. They will freak out sometimes because they aren't getting enough milk so just give it time.
