Good choice hun, What ever you decided is best...
LOL keep those wipes handy cause youll need them.
I think I might stick to the rice and introduce vegs's at 6 months but bring the rice to twice a day! My healthvisitor had a go at me but my gp said go ahead! Ill stick to the rice for now just make it twice a day he's a hungry baby and I don't want to deprive him of food! Ill introduce flavours and veg at 6 months x
I have to say i started to feed my daughter solids at 2 months. Just cereal and things like that and she was off the bottle and fully eating solids by the time she was 6 months.
I was yelled at by my midwife and early childhood lady saying i was NOT to do it again.
So i did. My daughter was hungry so i fed her.
Its not right that we should know our children are hungry and have to limit their food cause other people think thats all they need.
Your a great mother and you will do what you think needs to be done...
Harry isn't obese! he is growing right and according to his charts his weight is steady and on one line! Going at a steady pace!! My health visitor said wait till 17 weeks for the rice but my dr said start at 10 weeks if he likes it (I was on baby rice at 10 weeks) like I said in previous posts he sleepS better with baby rice he goes to sleep earlier! I might just stick with what I am doing! And the baby rice once a day!! I just wondered if I should introduce stuff earlier!! Thank you! :) x
I didnt give my baby rice until 5 months, but we pretty much let her drink as much milk as she wanted. If she wanted another bottle after finishing one we gave it to her. She wasnt obese and was growing and if she was hungry I fed her. You wouldnt know from looking at her but she is a BIG eater, and granted we feed her healthy foods, we feed her continuously throughout the day. Do what feels right to you, but I will say dont over do the rice cereal, only because it is empty calories, I'm not saying dont give any, but maybe small amounts a couple times a day.
Good Luck
Theres alot of mixed feelings on when to introduce solids to your baby. I was giving my babies cereal in their formula (I know this is frowned upon) and none of the 3 are obese, were obese nor did they develop any food allergies. They never seemed to be satisfied. I would try it and if it doesnt upset his tummy do it when you feel comfortable. Most peds dont want you to introduce solids (starting with veggies first) until 5 or 6 months. But if your going to do the solids now like I said start with veggies and wait a week or so before starting a new one to see if he has an allergy to it.
Like I said this has alot of mixed feelings but I did what I thought was best for my babies and they are healthy as can be and VERY active children. Good luck to you.
