Fundal height isn't a good indicator of baby's size. With my dd, my fundal height was three weeks behind like yours. I was told to expect a five pounder. She was born at 38 weeks weighing seven pounds even. If amnio and ultrasounds are on target, I wouldn't give the fundal height another thought.
Thanks Nicole, not to mention she lays very low.
My dd was so low, I was certain she was just going to fall out! Haha! But, most ob's and midwives don't put much stock into fundal height. Is that why you're seeing a specialist? Bc your fundal measurement is off?
Sometimes i think the same thing....shes going to fall out,LOL. My OB just wants to make sure everything is ok with her. I am gaining weight like i should, i have gained 30lbs.and she is VERY active! Im to the point where i hate going to the Dr.
The up side is you get to see she every 3 weeks i wish i could. Lol
Hme85,i didnt look at it that way:),but between the 3 ultrasounds i have about 30 pics of her,and the pics dont even excite me anymore. But atleast I'll get to ser her ofrenda, the only upside;)
At 25 wks I stopped measuring correctly. I saw a team of 3 drs & only 1 had a problem with my measuring. He kept saying oh something is wrong so every time I saw him I got an ultrasound. My daughter was born 2 days before her due date weighing 7 # 1 oz & 18 inches long. She was perfect I only gained 15 # too so I wouldn't put too much stock in the measurements.
My fundal measurement has been high since about 23 weeks and I'm 36w6d. I get monthly u/s but because of other issues but at my last one T 35 weeks she was measuring 7lb2oz but even ultrasounds can be really off. At 36w with my son I was told he was over 8lbs already based off an u/s and he was born at 39w and was 7lb6oz. Drs like to just kinda cover all their bases in case something may actually be wrong. It's better to have it checked out an be fine than to not and have something be wrong.
