would you get an epidural or no?!

With my first, i had been in labor almost 24 hours before i got the epidural. My epidural made my right leg completely numb (couldnt feel it at all not even to move it) and my left leg just feel heavy, i felt EVERY contraction there was, i felt her coming out etc. my epidural was ripped out of my back when it got caught on a sheet while leaning up to push and i still have back problems because of it. The only reason i got the epidural last time was because my body was so exhausted i couldnt handle the pain anymore. I was on magnesium sulfate for my blood pressure and double the dose of pitocin i had no sleep whatsoever and was given shots of pain meds because at first i was refused an epidural and i had reached my breaking point after almost 24 hours of no sleep and meds that make you exhausted. But i essentially didnt have one anyways as i still felt everything going on. With this one i really am not sure if i should even put myself through getting one at risk of more back problems if it doesnt work again.

I never had one with my boys and don't plan on it this time, I didn't find labor to be that painful except when my 1st son came out he had such broad shoulders I ripped everywhere. With my 2cnd he was so quick I barely felt anything.
I think it is what you feel if you really don't want it again and had problems I would say don't get it if you don't want it.
Good Luck :)

I got one with my first and second pregnancy and I loved it. I didn't feel a thing and I had no problems with my back afterwards because of it. With this pregnancy I decided to go all natural and not take any pain medication. Mostly because my baby has health issues and I want to feel everything and make it memorable. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your last epidural.

I didn't have one with my first I was more afraid of that damn needle in my back! Going for the same this time. Just too many problems I've heard and read from too many people. Risk not worth it when I know I can do it without!

I'm debating my self to get one or not. I keep hearing ppl having back issues afterwards and I'm scared that will happen to me. Most likely I'll go natural

Csection is even more dangerous because my risk of bleeding to death would be even higher. My best bet is an all natural birth however, i  am still at risk of bleeding to death after birth. (Which is why i will remain in the hospital for probably at least a week after birth even if i have no other complications)

Sadly, i felt the pain from contractions. I would have LOVED to just feel the pressure...but wasnt so lucky i suppose. :( ive heard the epidural is great when it works and i would love to get one if i knew it would work..but im unsure about even trying another one since the first time it didnt work and caused more problems instead of good

Thats what ive been thinking..im afraid of any more long term side effects. Plus it increases the risk i will have to have emergency surgery due to the bleeding disorder ive got. I could bleed out into my back and the drs wouldnt know neither would i. But if i opt to not get one i will really have to limit visitors because my concentration will be broken when it comes to dealing with my pain. (It works better for me if i visualize myself somewhere calm and quiet and take slow deep breaths) but i obviously cant do that with interruptions from people who continuously try to talk to me

I got one with my first and loved it. I felt the pressure of the contractions but not the pain. I was up and out of bed about an hour after I had my daughter. I plan on getting one again.

I'm going to try to tough it out and atleast wait til the last possible minute to get it if I do. I have a lot of family support so I think I can handle natural.

Even if it was my last option I wouldn't do it. From what I've heard it does more harm than good. I'd rather be exhausted and get it over with then do that and have some long term effects but that's my opinion
