You should follow the advice of an orthopedic surgeon, or seek a second opinion of another orthopedic surgeon, as there are many variables, including but not limited to location (intra-articular vs. extra-articular) as well as alignment/displacement of bones. Imaging follow-up is important to show bony bridging and callous formation, indicative of healing. Persistence of a linear lucency/fracture line portends poor prognosis, such as incomplete healing/non-union.
