That's a good point, lynxgal. Sarah, tooth disease or even decays can cause certain illnesses. Remember, that's also poison that enters the blood stream, which in turn also needs to be corrected and the blood should be cleansed by eating fiber, fruits and vegetables (preferably organic). Check your list(s) with these suggestions. The more that can be ruled out, the better!

Has your son been tested for CMT Charcot Marie Tooth Disease?
Fox,
Sorry to hear about your son. I can see that you are strong. That's good. Does your son take vitamins? I know a lot of people who don't like them. A lot of people don't even eat vegetables. Our bodies needs these things. There will be a lot of things that go wrong with our bodies and, guess what? There may Never be a Proper diagnose for the ailment(s). The truth is...doctors have technology that can only detect diseases (maybe) or whatever's wrong, but rarely will a EKG, or MRI, X-rays, or any of those other machines, actually tell us that we need Vitamins A, B, C, D, K, etc...
They can only see through a blood test that your blood count is low, which would mean anemia, and will try to guess at more info, as you can see from what you've already been through. They will never say, "Well, uhhh, I can see, uhhh, that through the blood tests, uhhh, that you're lacking...Vitamin K (which is dark green, leafy vegetables), or that you should eat more fiber to clean out all the fast foods, and poisons that we all eat. In other words, they can never be exact as to what you should or should not do. It's actually overwhelming to know of all the things our bodies need.
The truth is, if you start doing these things (if you haven't already began this regimen) you will begin to build your son's health and most of the disease-like symptoms that your son is experiencing will soon began to fade if not diminish. We are not hopeless individuals, as it may seem.
It's the "disease-like" symptoms that cause doctors to prescribe meds, needless operations and all sorts of treatments. Try beginning with the above mentioned. Do research on the Internet or buy books that can tell you the foods that contain these nutrients that you need.
In 1990-91, I was having pain around my navel. I was told I had a hernia. I was diagnosed (by another Dr.) with Colitis in 1992, then Crohn's Disease. I did the above research, along with pure bottled water. I last saw "A" doctor in 1993. I had rather to be my own doctor or die. During my healing period, I've had episodes with those "Symptoms" but since I kept at the regimen, I can honestly say..."Since about 1999, I've had no more problems with the "Symptoms." My current problem is with the pulsating sensations in my torso. I'm currently doing the research needed to minimize the possible problems. But I have to remember, I was going through a death of a loved one about three months ago, when it all began. It could be something as simple as stress. So far, I can see that as I (we) get older (and we're all getting older), our bodies are always changing, it could probably be my nerves that are reacting in this way. When I eliminate caffeine and take an herb called Nettle (which has a calming effect on anything going on in the body), things are much better. And when I have pain now (if I ever do, which is rare), I think about my vitamins. I have to do all the figuring because I will not go through with all the misdiagnoses and meds and more meds, after hours of waiting in an ER. I want to be healthy not doped up! I was so determined to help myself, that my regimen went on as much as 3 times per day! (with herbs, vitamins, and raw vegetables). And that was all I needed, yet they say, "there's no cure" (for the hernia -slash, colitis -slash, Crohn's). HELL! I GUESS NOT! THEY COULDN'T EVEN STICK TO ONE STORY! And they would probably use the word "Remission." But to me, if you have no problems with something, couldn't that probably mean you no longer have it? Not in their book. How long is it now, for me? This is 2009???
I'm a sixteen-year veteran in the study of herbs, vitamins, and nutrition.
The smartest thing the first doctor said (the one who diagnosed a "hernia") was, "Just because you have symptoms of a disease, doesn't mean you have the disease." Those words still stuck in my head to this day. And now with positive efforts... I DO THE DRIVING.
If you'd try these things, at least the doctors can rule out these deficiencies (which is a lack of vitamins). There are so many nutrients our bodies need, you'd be surprised!
I know he's young, but just start by:
giving fiber cereals (they have ones that tastes good),
multivitamins
less fast foods and junk foods. These have chemicals that could be giving him reactions. Allergies can cause us to sneeze, eye tearing, cough, heart palpitations, hyperactive, nervous, constipation, and a host of other problems that will only be pacified but not cured. Who's to say he has any disease, just because he has these "Reactions?" Possible allergy reactions. That's why Organic Foods are the best! And it could be as simple as that. So start giving him more fiber so he can eliminate as much as he can.
offer more vegetables (dark green)
give him lots of bottled water. It's better for his digestion. I learned that on my own. All those doctors, and none of them told me!
I hope this bit of info can help. It surely helps me, even now! There is hope. So, take a deep breath, girlfriend. You're doing just fine!
Give a holla!
