Thanks doctor,
I will update you whenever I can.
Tace care you too.
That's great news! It is also good that the white blood cell count has gone back to 4000. Buscopan as antispasmodic may indeed help. Regular PSA test with digital rectal examination is highly recommended. Take care always.
Hi Doctor
Thanks a lot for your concern.
I saw my urologyst last week. He said I am ok, although my prostate is a little biger, around 49g, normal for my age, he said. Tough there is no risk of cancer so far.
About the flickering, he prescribed a kind of muscle anti-spasm, in Brazil we call "buscopan". I did not try yet.
My white blood cells is below 4000, normal for me.
So, I think everything is fine.
Thanks again.
Hi Sir,
How are you? Were you able to talk to your physician? I do hope the flickering as well as the prostate infection that was considered has resolved. take care and do keep us posted.
Thanks Doctor,
Tomorrow I'm going to talk with my physician.
I will let you being informed.
Enjoy this time.
Best regards
Hi Sir,
Merry Christmas! It is good that the ultrasound and blood test were fine. Right now, the benign prostate enlargement and infection is our working diagnosis. I think this is better than being in the dark. Hope to hear from you soon about your physical and neurological examination. Take care always.
Hi Doctor
The ultrasound presented a good result. Of course I gotta see a Urologyst next week, but the exame did not show anything but a benign protate enlargement (49g). I know that exame is not conclusive itself. That is why I have to be examined by a doctor.
My blood exame came up with normal leucocitos number, around 6000. Nevertheless I know myself very well and all my life this figure never reached 4000. So we have to think that this normal result might be a little bit high to me. What is really bothering me is that sort of flickering I said in my first post. Right now we have to take in consideration a prostate infection to justify the PSA increase.
Dr Santos, thank you very much. I want to wish you the best.
Merry Christmas.
Hi Sir,
How was your prostate ultrasound? It is good that you were able to have your prostate examined. Aside from the PSA test, was there a digital rectal examination (DRE) done? There can be different reasons for an elevated PSA level. This can include possible prostate cancer, benign prostate enlargement, inflammation, infection, age, and even your race. Risk factors for the dreaded prostate cancer include age 65 and older, family history, race, and possibly diet high in fat. If you do not have any of these risk factors, the chance is low. Take care and do keep us posted. Best regards.
I am sorry, when I wrote glande I wanted to refer Prostate (glandula)
I am from Brazil and my english is not perfect.
Hi Doctor, first of all, thank you very much.
As a matter of fact, I am worry with some kind of prostate problems, considering proximity between the glande and the flickering sensations. In August my PSA was 2.3.This week it jumped to 3.67. This is too much in four months. This morning I will undergo a prostate ultrasonography.
Dr Rowena, you've been very nice. I'd really prefer some neurological problems. I got terrified when prostate might be the core of the problem.
Thanks again
Hi,
How are you? The spasms could be neurological in nature. If it has been four months already, it is best that you have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Your medical history and complete neurological examination may help determine the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
