Syphilis

Currently Sypilis RPR titer is reactive 1:1 after treatment. 8 days earlier and prior treatment of one dose 2.4 million units of penecillin G, RPR titer was reactive 1:2. There are no symptoms and the duration is not identified for this syphilis.

Question: When can the RPR becomes non reactive in this case? Will it be months or just days?

Hello johnnivlac,

It would take a month or two for the test to be non reactive. This needs to be correlated with the stage of syphilis. What is more important is the response to the therapy especially penicillin. It seems the response till now has been good.

Take care.
