Temporary loss of vision

I'm 49yrs. old and I've been experiencing episodes where I temporary lose my vision. My eyes roll in and get completely cross eyed. Sometimes it is mild and last a minute sometimes much stronger and I feel the pulling in my head as it occurs. It scares me so much. I don't know why this is happening? Has anyone experience this?

Thanks so much for your reply on my situation. I was diagnosed with Complicated Migranes. Now I'm on Depakote to help get less frequent migranes. It has help so far. I hope your doing better with your symptoms. God bless.

Most importantly you should see a doctor about this. It could just be a migraine symptom.  I'm 54 and I've had symptoms like this (plus other symptoms) starting about 20 years ago, although I've never had migraine headaches.  The symptoms last no longer than a few minutes.  If it is a migraine, the good news is that you can do something about it and there are no dire consequences.  I hardly ever have symptoms anymore since I've cut back on things that can cause migraine symptoms (chocolate, caffeine, nuts, aged cheeses, anything fermented).
