Vitamin B12 Deficiency

What is the best remedy for a severe vitamin B12 deficiency, with significant, but reversable neurological (multiple mylein sheath lesions in the brain, neck and spine) damage?

I am on a short-term B12 injection therapy (once a week, cyanocobalimin), as well as taking sublingual, liquid B12 supplements (concentrated methylcobalimin, and Bcomplex).

Thank you for the response!  I'm sorry to hear that you have permanent nerve damage.  I don't know if I do or not, but it definitely feels like it.  Sometimes my balance can be "off" and I get "tired in the brain" when I move around too much.  It's a very strange occurance.

I have been treating this for the past four months with injections and supplements.  It is a night and day difference from a year ago, which was the onset of this at-that-time, an unknown, scary illness.  I was eventually diagnosed back in April 10' (I started feeling sick, unbalanced, and zombie-like in Feb.10') with MS, the most aggressive form, but as it turns out that I have an awful B12 deficiency, and it is slowly getting better.  This was weirdly the best news of my life!

The Bcomplex supplements that I have been taking lately seem to work really well!  The complex includes everything you mentioned except for the omega 3 fats and iodine, which I supplement elsewhere.

I'm glad you're going to try out the methylcobalimin! It's worked wonders for me so far!  Good luck!

I have permanent nerve damage from severe vitamin B12 deficiency however some of the damage did improve after a year of B12 treatment. After a year, it seems that is as good as it gets.  I was on injections to start with than changed to sublingual B12 tablets then to sublingual B12 spray (2000mcg daily currently). I have been treating for 3 years with no further changes however i have only used sublingual cyanocobalmin.  I am thinking of trying methylcobalimin out however to see if anything happens.  Can't hurt. :)

One medical websites state "Any damage to nerves may be permanent, especially if treatment is not started within 6 months of when the symptoms begin".

I did come across this information recently on an article by Dr Mercola entitled "Doctor Reverses MS in 9 Months by Eating These Foods". Can't hurt to make sure all these nutrients are optimal either. As i never eat fish, i have started taking omega 3.

Myelin also needs specific nutrients to function properly:

Vitamin B1
Vitamin B9
Vitamin B12
Animal-based omega-3 fat
Iodine
