What's wron with me?

I am a 23 year old female. I was recently diagnosed with alopecia areata. When I was dx by my dermatologist I asked if  I needed to take any other tests at the time to see if there is any underlying causes she said no, no underlying causes just things that could be related to and it was unnecessary. Since then I have developed a full feeling on the left side of my face down to about halfway down my neck. This is accompanied by sensitivity to noise in that ear, a weird taste in my mouth on the left side and at times a weird nostalgic feeling.Sometimes I feel extremely anxious and get dizzy spells every once in a while. I feel the need to take a nap in the afternoons.I have lost 12 pds since the alopecia diagnosis, i now weigh 105 pds and im 5'1. Last week I visited my GP because I was suffering from bowel issues and was put on antibiotics which helped. I wonder if all of these things are related? Alopecia areata, bitter taste on left side of mouth, facial fullness on left side and dizzyness and nausea in the morning before i go to work, weight loss. Any information could be helpful i am extremely confused and not sure where to turn or what to do next.
Thank you for any input!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Alopecia areata is a hair loss condition characterized by the rapid onset of hair loss in a specific area such as the scalp. It is usually associated with other diseases, but most of the time an autoimmune factor is considered. Management for alopecia is usually observation especially if the patch of hair loss is small. Another option is to use medical treatment. With regards to the other symptoms, it is best that you have this evaluated further for proper management. Additional tests may also help.  Take care and do keep us posted.

Hey hun,

I had the same thing happen to me last year. I started to lose patches of hair. My doctor did bloodwork and said I had an iron deficiency-but that doesn't mean its the only cause. Also I have IBS (would explain nausea)... Stress seems like it could be an underlying factor... It was for me for both health issues. Would also be a reason for why you feel tired sometimes. I would get a second opinion and talk to someone about it if you have a lot of stress in your life-It can really do a number on your health. Also I agree with FurballsMom, check your thyroid- that was one of the things they tested me for.

I don't know, just a pure guess--something neurological maybe?  The dizziness, the noise sensitivity and the nausea I can relate to with the migraines I get, which are also neurological.  That's what made me think it's possibly neurological.

Another guess here:  Have you had your thyroid checked?  Your adrenals?  Have you had blood work up to test for autoimmune disorders?

I'm only tossing some ideas your way.
