Hi,
Thank your for the updates. It is good that a sleep study was done already. Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI) usually is seen in a sleep study or polysomnogram with an absence of slow-wave sleep. FFI is a rare genetic disease which presents with difficulty falling asleep and is associated with symptoms leading to abnormalities involving blood pressure, heart rate, and sweating. There are a variety of possibilities such as your diet, caffeine, or underlying conditions such as diabetes or thyroid issues. We will know when we get the results of the sleep study. Hang on and do keep us posted.
Hello, I'm still going threw my battle with choinic insomina. I have such a fear of the unknown. I'm so affraid I have the rare disease Fatal Familiar insomina. Would the sleep study be able to tell if thats what I have? I had a sleep study done last night but wont get know results for two weeks. The tech did tell me I do not have sleep apena though. Also have you ever heard of this before. This is the part that also scares me. Most people who have insomina are so tired becuase they didnt sleep. They can barley function. I seem to function okay and not tired. I fell very hig adrenline. LIke a drug attack I guess. Thats what the tech said. I wouldnt know becuase I have never taken drugs or drinked. That freaks the heck out of me becuase why do I feel such high adrenline? What do you think it could be. No I do not drink any caffiene becuase thats what the doctors tryied to blame it on. That wasnt the problem.
Anyway cant waid to hear back from you. Thanks you so much.
Hi,
How are you? Insomnia or difficulty falling asleep is usually a symptom that can have many different causes. This includes an irregular sleep-wake schedule, poor sleep habits , physical disorders, certain medications, emotional problems, anxiety, and stress. If insomnia persists despite measures to correct it, a referral to a sleep disorders specialist for evaluation may be done. Tests such as polysomnography can also be done. The treatment of insomnia depends on its cause and severity. Prescription sleep aids may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
I"m still having major trouble with insomina. Last night I layed in bed trying to get some sleep. I have this horriable feeling threw my legs. Tingling, burning, and like a electric feeling threw out my whole body. My legs wouldnt relax. I was in bed for three hours and couldnt get to sleep. I finally decided to take a trazadone 50mg. I then feel asleep. I probably got five hours of sleep but woke up several time during that five hours. Does anyone know what I'm going threw. If you have gone threw something similar please share with me. I need some hope or a positive story. I went to the doctor and she doesnt know what is causing the chonic insomina. She told me I should have a sleep study done. I thought maybe I have fatal familiar insomina but she told me there isnt such a thing. I told her yeah there is she goes will you dont have that. Anyway so here I'm another day of a bad night of sleep. How am I ever going to live happy wiht this insomina? Please if you read this write me. Thanks
I was wondering does a sleep study find out whats causing the insomina or just rule out sleep apena?
