innapropriate sinus tachycardia

I am 19 years old female who smokes. For almost a year I've experienced bouts of dizziness and light-headedness, and feeling as if about to faint. I ignoared this untill one day I woke up and completly could not get out of bed. I went to the E.R and was told I had orthostatic hypotension. Two days later I went back to the E.R and was told my H.R was 180 and my blood pressure was low. I was sent to a cardio doctor who had me do a tilt table test which was negative, although my heart rate got extremely high. I was also given a echocardiogram which was normal and two holter monitars. I was then sent to a electro doc (I believe thats what he was called) he did some ekgs and diagnosed me with IST. I am so scared because for seven months I have not been able to leave my house unless it is for a dr. appointment, I can barley move as well. My question is if IST is dangerous and why my symptoms are feeling so lightheaded and near fainting, and not feeling heart racing unless I've walked around a lot..because even laying in bed all day without getting up,,I still experience extreme light headedness and faint feeling. I was prescribed anti-depressents and beta blockers, and calcium channel blockers which I have not been able to tolerate. Less than a few years ago I was very active and would run several miles a day..now out of nowhere I cannot even sit or stand more than five minutes without comming close to fainting. Because of this I had to give up school and sell my car. Please, any advice would be wonderful or an explanation. Some days are better than others but on the most part I am constantly weary and lightheaded..I know my heart rate is high but that does not bother me because I can barley notice..Im so afraid I am going to die because of this.

I might be totally wrong, and it probably seems really random; but could you possibly have lost a tampon in your vagina? I was just reading a forum about it because my sister had it happen to her, and it's super common actually. It can be in there for super long without giving you tss, but it will still make you sick. Common side effects are dizziness, feeling faint, lightheaded, abdominal pain, and your legs falling asleep so you can't walk. Plus a couple more things. Sorry if I'm totally wrong, I don't really know what the disorder/illness that you were diagnosed with is. You're symptoms just sounded very familiar. Some women even went to the doctors and they couldn't see a tampon in her. Some of them even came back with the same result. And what do you think happens, but it gets pushed out around a week later.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Inappropriate sinus tachycardia is an uncommon form of arrhythmia and is a diagnosis of exclusion. Usually, IST is triggered by orthostasis, minimal exertion, and psychological stress. Unfortunately, the cause is not known. Environmental factors, such as mentioned above, and work-related exposures should also be considered. The prognosis is benign although regular follow-up is highly recommended.  Talk to your doctor about this and read more about it to better understand what you are against and to be more in control of the situation. Hang on and stay positive always.Take care and do keep us posted.

Hello, just as a curisity, please go to your profile page and make sure you check all the boxes and my goodness what you are going through....okay tachycardia....I know of that symptom...I know it because of s.v.t. (supra-ventricular tachycardia), or wolffs parkinsons whytt....ALL THE SAME...now you said it was sinus tachycardia and then diagnosed with IST......WHAT IS YOU BLOOD PRESSURE....LAYING DOWN VERSES SITTING THEN STANDING....ON WHICH ARM.....OUR HEARTS ARE RUN BY SEVERAL THINGS....BLOOD..((plumber)).........ELECTRICAL IMPULSES FROM THE BRAIN AND WITHIN ITSELF...((electrition))sTRESS CAN AND DOES EFFECT AND AFFECT THE CHEMICALS RELEASED THAT REGULATE THE MUSCLE ITSELF...tHYROID CAN INTERFER WITH THOSE FUNCTIONS SO WHAT WAS YOU TSH#.....ANOTHER THOUGHT IS RELATED TO EXPOSURES..... In my case a long term natural gas leak in my home caused major health issues and complications that to this day, 14 years later, I am still learning and have decided to become an advocate to those who sound as I have sounded these 14 years....The symptoms you spoke of...(and I read these very carefully), sounds like it is me telling the beginning of my story.......I have but one ? right now at this point!     Are you being exposed to some form of chemical as in downwind from landfill, chemical plant nearby, workplace exposure to things such as print material, manufacture of plastics, MOLD, been through a mist of chemicals or the pesticides used by neighbors or farms? Think about it...look back about 11/2 years or so....I'll be here if you want to talk, vent, complain or just understand....I'm in my house also....I'M STILL ALIVE!!!!!!!
Have a wonderful Blessed Day!!!!!!   GOD BLESS!!!!!     loimmarmar
